Essential oil combinations for supporting restful sleep

Bottles of Serenity and Lavender

I love sleep. It’s a beautiful thing. But it doesn’t always come easy for me. As a creative, my mind is always going a million miles a minute – thinking about all the things I should’ve, could’ve, would’ve…

Sound familiar?

Luckily, I have found tremendous support through essential oils as there are options for every type of sleeper. Not all of us have the same issues with our sleep so not all options will work for everyone. It’s about pairing the right combination of oils that would best support you. Here are some of my go-to combinations.

For the snorers…

Is that even a word? (ha!) Snoring may not necessarily effect your sleep but it most certain can effect your partners. Snoring is typically caused from restricted airflow in the nose or mouth. For that, I would give Douglas Fir or Breathe® a try. Both of these oils are amazing from promoting clear airways and easy breathing. Simply pop a few drops of each into your diffuser at bedtime.

For those who need deep sleep…

This is me! Anytime I can get some deep Z’s I’m ALLLL about it. My go-to combo for this is Copaiba and Serenity®. You can use them both topically, pop them into the diffuser or even take them internally. A few drops of each in a veggie capsule would be perfect. Or both Copaiba and Serenity come in softgel form. Pop one of each of those before bedtime.

For the light sleepers…

This is also me. I wake up to the slightest noises sometimes – which is why I typically have a fan going year round. I need that background noise to drown everything out. Lavender and Bergamot are two great oils to help support light sleepers. Again, these two oils can be used in your diffuser or applied topically.

For the restless sleepers…

Also me (I’m noticing a trend here… ha!) Some nights, I toss and turn all night. Between my racing thoughts and my ridiculous amount of daily caffeine consumption, often times, I find it difficult to just relax. That’s where Cedarwood and Wild Orange come in. These two oils can help quiet the body (and mind) to support you during those restless nights. Also great in both the diffuser and used topically.

Ready to get some Z’s?

Would you benefit from one (or more) of these combos? How about someone you know (or dare I say your significant other). Share this post with your friends!
